Community Gardens Day

Saturday, June 17, 2017 - 10:00am to 2:00pm

The fourth annual COMMUNITY GARDENS DAY will take place Saturday, June 17, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (Rain date June 18.)

From tranquil spots filled with flowers and trees to bountiful vegetable gardens that produce healthy food, there are hundreds of community gardens across Philadelphia. Community Gardens Day is a celebration of these shared open spaces, which bring so many benefits to Philadelphia’s communities and its environment. Participating gardens will welcome visitors to enjoy an array of activities including workdays, tours, workshops, kids’ activities, barbeques and much more.

Participants can choose between several Community Gardens Day tours:

* Bike and walking tour participants will receive a free Univest knapsack with sunscreen and seed packets.

The Community Gardens Day Map highlights the gardens throughout our city and shows which gardens will be part of each available tour. All tours will leave from a Kick-Off Celebration at Las Parcelas Garden in Norris Square. The event is hosted by The Neighborhood Gardens Trust, an affiliate organization of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. Weavers Way Co-op is a participating sponsor.
