Member Workshop: Strategies for Champions of Sustainable Societies

Thursday, April 20, 2017 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm

When Weavers Way Working Member Trudy Heller thought about what in her two decades of teaching sustainability to business professionals was of any use today, she realized it wasn’t the content, green business news. The field of sustainable business has exploded. Now subfield specialists work in energy, food, buildings, water, transportation, recycling, etc. etc.

What does seem most useful are the educational and training strategies she developed, through trial and error, that transformed students from skeptical about greening to enthusiastic about transitioning to a sustainable society, with business playing a significant role.

For years Trudy had students keep personal diaries. They recorded their reactions to the materials and exercises they confronted in the training. Trudy used insights from the diaries to fine-tune training activities and select materials. The result is a formula for reliably transforming mindsets and hearts.

In this workshop Trudy will share the best, most effective strategies for relating to those who do not yet understand the need for change to a sustainable society.
