Wednesday Workshop: Ferment Your Own Kimchi

Wednesday, December 28, 2016 - 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Learn all about fermenting vegetables, with a special focus on kimchi. Topics covered will include the history and biology of fermenting veggies, ingredients and variations on recipes, troubleshooting and FAQ, live demonstration, and hands-on making. Participants will leave with the confidence to safely ferment in their own homes; fermentation vessels and materials will be available for purchase.

The workshop will be led by farmer and fermentation guru Chris Whitney, owner of Locktown Farm in Hunterdon County, NJ.

This program is FREE: register here.

Join us weekly on Wednesday evenings for workshops that will inspire and enable a stronger connection of our homes and lifestyles to nature and community. From how-to workshops on topics of self-sufficiency and urban homesteading to discussions about gardening for biodiversity, Wednesday night programs will guide us in methods of creating more sustainable, connected, and personally satisfying ways of modern living.
